"A Gift"

by Jenny Grzybowski

A very gifted and beautiful lady came into our lives recently. I received a phone call from Michelle Hunter requesting that she pay us a visit and demonstrate a very special talent that she has for being able to recognise, in animals and in humans, areas of trouble that could be causing discomfort or pain.

She had discovered whilst watching horses at shows and events that she could tell by the way they were moving that they were compensating for their discomforts. In a way Michelle could be called a Natural Healer.

By talking to Michelle I knew instantly that she was telling the truth and invited her to the farm where we live to look at my own horse and that of a friend. I told her nothing about the horses.

When she arrived I noticed that she had a very beautiful aura about her which I instantly liked - and so did all the animals on the farm, all wanting to be near her and be looked at. It was the most amazing sight. Her first words as we approached the horses were "It's the grey horse I'm going to look at, isn't it? I thought on the way here that it's a grey I shall be seeing."

My friend's horse, Mercury, is a big strong Irish Draught horse but had recently been looking a bit uncomfortable. He had had a fall on the roads a while back and hurt his knees, which my friend Kay thought may have been the problem. But Michelle identified Mercury's problem straight away: he was uncomfortable in his back and unbalanced. Michelle asked Kay if Mercury's saddle had been made for him and Kay replied that it had been on five different horses before him; nothing unusual about that! But Kay had been thinking for a while that his saddle didn't fit him and was about to take it in for re-stuffing.

At this point my horse Kite was muscling in on the act; "look at me, look at me", he was saying. Immediately Michelle said "Now he is a much more complex animal." I became a little anxious but she soon talked me through his problems and explained in great detail what she could feel and sense. By passing her hand over Kite's body she could feel areas of heat. She knew exactly the three areas that had been manipulated by a chiropractor and she told me that she thought Kite had been born with a bone defect. He has what looks like a missing spinous process on his withers and as a result has built up large muscle structures on his shoulders to compensate. And she thought, because he is a naturally fit and active horse and loves his work that he would be fine, but recommended some more manipulation, followed by massaging, which he loves, and she told me always to massage towards the heart to stimulate the circulation.

Both horses were so relaxed - it was incredible. Michelle then looked at my partner, my mother and stepfather, Kay, me and three dogs.

Michele starts to unravel Kite's past with her hands

She identified physiological problems in all of us, some of which, as riders, we need to be aware of, as often the way we sit affects the way the horses go. I have been very tense recently with a lot of pressure, but she made me relax. Kay had suffered a headache for days and that just lifted like magic. My stepfather is crippled with arthritis now but she said to him "Did you used to be a runner?" As a young boy of 19 he ran for his country - Argentina.

After Michelle's visit Mercury's saddle was replaced with a better fitting one since when he has been a lot more comfortable. In fact, Mercury and Kite went on to enjoy the summer months long distance riding together - Kay and I enjoyed it as well! Kite has been hunting and show jumping and Mercury also hunts twice a week. We were just so relieved that there was nothing seriously wrong with either of them.

If you think you have a concern with your animal Michelle would be happy to speak to you or arrange a visit. Why not invite her to give a talk to a special group?

Please call her on 07946 624775.

This very special lady opened all our eyes with her wonderful Natural Healing gift.

Thank you Michelle Hunter.
