We would very much welcome your
participation in this magazine. We cannot guarantee when or if your articles
will appear but will do our best to include as many as possible. Photographs
would be greatly appreciated, a selection if possible, and if sent by post will
be returned to you.
All the work published from this issue until
the November issue will be entered for our "Writer of the Year 2000"
competition and our panel of professional writers will be assess them on content,
style and good clear English.
We shall announce the winner of the second year of publication in the January
2001 issue.
Each article to be entered in the competition will carry the following logo:
The prize to the winner will be £100 GBP ($160
USD) or Field Galleries vouchers to the value of £150 GBP ($240 USD). The winner's
article will be republished in full with background details and photograph if
you agree!
So please get your thinking "caps" on
and we would be delighted to receive text from you on any of the following (approximately
1000-2000 words please):
A special breed of horse about which you care
passionately, and why.
A riding holiday which you have enjoyed
An equestrian event or competition in which
you participated with all its attendant triumphs or "disasters"
(humour appreciated!)
A profile of a favourite horse - famous or
otherwise
Book reviews - fiction or non-fiction. Any
equine related book you have read and enjoyed in the last two years we would
like to hear about! Please include details of the publisher, price etc. If
there is any equine book in your "library" that you have had for
years but cannot imagine ever being without ... please let us know about it!
Do you work with horses? If so why not write
about your job and what it involves (and hopefully why you wouldn't want to
change it for anything else).
If you have another subject area which you
would be interested in writing about then please get in touch with us
So if you wish to see your work published in this
magazine and have the chance to win this prize, please contact us.
