Horses & Heroes is a photographer’s book – John Minoprio’s personal odyssey of 40 years of taking picture of people with horses. It includes the great events of the horse world; from Badminton to Burghley, from Richmond to Windsor, from Aachen to Dublin. Famous names appear, but the book is not just about the horse in sport, it covers many aspects of life with horses and behind the scenes activity.

John Minopro has photographed driving, dressage, eventing, show-jumping, polo, ceremonial and circus – as well as equestrian fashion, his current interest. His theme, and the reason for the book, is to share his role as a watchful bystander over the years, and remember in pictures those he has admired.

The photographs, in colour and black and white, are superbly reproduced and the author’s captions provide eye-witness comment. The book will have wide appeal among horse lovers. To the young, the stars of today will keep them inspired.
