For anyone with any interest in Iberian horses this show is a 'must' for your diary.
The in-hand and movement competitions take place on the Saturday for Purebreds, Hispano-Arabs,
Appaloosas, Lusitanos and Lippizzaners. On Sunday all the ridden classes take place. Classes
include:
Classical Dressage Test for Young Horse/Beginners and Novice levels; BHS Dressage and
Freestyle to Music (both Elementary and Advanced), Versatility and Equitation with Jumping and Low
School for Males and Females. The latter are classes designed for novice horses and riders who have
never won a first prize in any type of ridden class.
There are championships for both ridden
Purebreds and Partbred and Hispano-Arabs. There is a Spanish Tack and Dress riding class and the
Ladies Elegance Class will be ridden side saddle (in traditional or English dress) followed by Doma
Vaquera.
The show closes with a grand parade and the entrants will be required to parade as if at a feria -
which should provide a wonderful spectacle.
Entries close on 1 August 1998.
