Photographer of the Year 2000

Competition

We are certain that there are many wonderful photographers amongst our readers so now we would like to put you to the test! The competition has two categories and each entrant is restricted to 2 images per category:

Category A ~ Portrait

Category B ~ The 'Nature' of Horses

A Portrait may be of your own horse or a person (or people) with a horse… You may decide that 'portrait' includes surroundings - it is up to you!

The Nature of Horses may be an image of horses in the wild, alternatively an image that captures an aspect of the 'nature' of horses - willingness, courage, strength, agility - once again, it is up to you.

You can (not obligatory) include details about the photographs - why and where you took them and any other relevant information.

The Prizes

The winner of each category will be able to select a Limited Edition Print of their choice from the Field Galleries range and we may award some consolation prizes of mixed packs of greetings cards, depending upon the quality and quantity of entries.

The competition closes on 31st December 2000. The Joy of Horses reserves the right to publish any of the entries - we will be setting up a page of any outstanding entries, which will remain on-line.

How to Send the Images

You may email your image(s) by simply sending them to photos@thejoyofhorses.com . They should be no bigger than 550 pixels wide. The resolution should be between 75 dpi and 150 dpi

Alternatively you may send your photographic print(s) (no larger than 10" x 8") or 35mm transparencies to:

Please mark your envelope 'Photographic Competition'

Whichever method you use please indicate the title of each image. Please include your name, address and telephone number. Email addresses change quite frequently and if we do not have other contact details, we cannot let you know if you win! If you are 16 years or under, please let us know your age.
